More than 1000 oncology nurse and patient navigators from across the United States and Canada gathered in Las Vegas for the Academy of Oncology Nurse & Patient Navigators (AONN+) Seventh Annual Navigation & Survivorship Conference.
At the Academy of Oncology Nurse & Patient Navigators (AONN+) Sixth Annual Conference, held in Atlanta, GA, in October, Barbara Antolino-Smith, RN, BSN, CPN, Pediatric Oncology Nurse, Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital, PA, was the recipient of the 2015 Oncology Nurse Excellence (ONE) Award.
The Academy of Oncology Nurse & Patient Navigators® (AONN+) is proud to announce that it has been granted membership in the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC).
“As a CoC member, we look forward to joining forces with some of the nation’s foremost oncology organizations to help write and implement policy that ensures patients have access to the highest standard of care available for their cancer,” said Lillie Shockney, AONN+ program director.
At the Academy of Oncology Nurse & Patient Navigators (AONN+) Fifth Annual Conference, held in Orlando, FL, in September, one nurse was recognized by her peers for her commitment to the profession. Jessica Engel, DNP, FNP-BC, AOCNP, nurse practitioner and research assistant at the Marshfield Clinic in Stevens Point, WI, was the recipient of the 2014 Oncology Nurse Excellence (ONE) Award.
At the Academy of Oncology Nurse Navigators (AONN+) 4th Annual Conference in November, one outstanding nurse was recognized by her peers for her dedication and commitment to the profession. The 2013 ONE Award winner was Libby Daniels, RN, OCN, from Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia, South Carolina.
SAN ANTONIO—In conjunction with the Second Annual Navigation and Survivorship Conference, the Academy of Oncology Nurse Navigators (AONN) presented the Second Annual Excellence in Navigation and Survivorship Awards. Recognizing excellence in patient navigation and survivorship care, 5 recipients were selected from more than 60 nominations in a variety of categories.
