Walnut Consumption May Help Protect Against Prostate Cancer

TOP - Daily

Researchers from the School of Medicine at The University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio studied the prostate cancer–related protective benefits of walnut consumption in mice

In a study with a mouse model to determine the benefits of a walnut-enriched diet in relation to prostate cancer, researchers discovered that not only did walnut consumption decrease the incidence of prostate cancer in the mice, but the rodents receiving the walnut-enriched diet developed, on average, tumors one-fourth the size of the control animals.

The study is published in the journal Cancer Investigation.
