Study shows premenopausal women with twice the normal level of sex hormones in their blood are at greater risk for developing breast cancer
In an analysis of data from 7 previous studies, University of Oxford researchers evaluated hormone levels taken from approximately 2460 premenopausal women, of whom 760 had breast cancer, and discovered that women with twice the concentration of female or male sex hormones in their blood were at an increased risk of breast cancer occurrence.
The study is published in The Lancet Oncology.
