Researchers uncover positive correlation between a postmenopausal woman’s height and cancer occurrence

In a study of data from the Women’s Health Initiative, Geoffrey Kabat, PhD, senior epidemiologist in the Department of Epidemiology and Population Health at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University in New York, NY, and colleagues discovered a positive correlation between a postmenopausal woman’s height and an increased risk of several cancers, including breast, colon, endometrial, kidney, ovarian, rectal, and thyroid, plus multiple myeloma and melanoma.

The study is published in Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention.
