Recent study shows cancer patients younger than 55 years often long for more personal involvement in treatment decisions
In a study by University of Cambridge researchers, an analysis of over 40,000 responses to the 2010 English National Cancer Patient Experience Survey revealed that although 70% of patients were pleased with their level of involvement in treatment decisions, younger cancer patients, ethnic minorities, and patients diagnosed with cancer of the bladder, ovaries, rectum, and multiple myeloma felt that decisions regarding their cancer treatment lacked an adequate level of their own personal involvement.
The study is published in British Journal of Cancer.
