Dana-Farber Cancer Institute study involved breast cancer patients diagnosed at age ≤40 years
A study led by Shoshana Rosenberg, ScD, of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard School of Public Health, included 277 women with stage I-III breast cancer who were diagnosed at age ≤40 years; the study showed that 62% of the women opted for a single or double mastectomy over a lumpectomy.
The research was presented at the 49th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
